Traditional Egalitarian
Saturday, December 7, 2019 • 9 Kislev 5780
10:00 AM - 12:00 PMSmall SanctuaryOn Shabbat morning, one can expect spirited, highly participatory, traditional davenning (chanted prayer, mostly in Hebrew). There are ample ways to expand one's participation skills by learning how to lead sections of the service, chanting a Haftarah or sections of the Torah, or delivering a D'var Torah (an address on a topic found in the Torah portion, Haftarah or a seasonal theme). Occasionally, classes will be offered to help those who wish to improve their understanding of Jewish liturgy or their facility with Hebrew. A companion booklet to the prayerbook, A Guide to Shabbat Morning Worship, is available for anyone who would like transliterations of Hebrew prayers or commentary on the liturgy.
