Thursday, April 30, 2020 • 6 Iyar 5780
7:30 PM - 8:30 PMJoin Rabbi Tom for a discussion on the Poetry of Hayim Nachman Bialik. The discussion will be based on a recorded lecture by Israeli educator Rachel Korazim.
Korazim, who teaches at Pardes and at the Shalom Hartman Institute, has been recording a series of Zoom classes during this period of social isolation called "Windows to Israel through Literature." Her lecture on Bialik (who has been called "Israel's National Poet" even though he died in 1935) takes us back to the early years of the twentieth century and introduces us to some of the themes that led to the riseof the Zionist movement in Europe.
You may listen to the recorded lecture (~ 1 hour & 10 minutes) at any time before our meeting, please find the lecture HERE. The PDF with the accompanying texts in Hebrew and English can be found HERE.
Please find the Zoom meeting details in the special announcement email.
