In keeping with the recommended guidelines for social gatherings during this period of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in keeping with the Jewish view that gives primacy to preserving life, CBI has replaced all in-person gatherings at the synagogue building with virtual gatherings. Meetings with one of the rabbis or administrative staff - where all parties are masked - may be made by appointment.

Shabbat Connections

Congregation Beth Israel's Shabbat Connections was created to help individuals and families create a more satisfying Shabbat experience. Participants are matched with four or five families to celebrate Shabbat with a potluck dinner in each other’s homes, on a monthly basis. Each Shabbat Connection group will have its own practices for deepening Shabbat observance (through music, food, rituals, Torah learning, etc.) with the support of the synagogue’s rabbis and educators. Groups are also encouraged to commit once a month to exploring other aspects of Jewish life at CBI (such as attending a worship service, lecture, holiday celebration, Beit Midrash, film screening, mussar group, etc.).

For more information or to sign-up for Shabbat Connections, please contact Rabbi Tom Gutherz.
