CBI's Hebrew Cemetery
The Hebrew Cemetery is located on First Street SE, just off Elliott Avenue. The gates to the cemetery are never locked: just lift the bar that holds the gates closed when you arrive, and lower it back in place to close the gates when you leave.
Hill and Wood Funeral Service has a drawing showing all available plots in the cemetery, and they will cooperate with any out-of-town funeral home that families wish to use. Prue Thorner and Linda Lester are co-chairs of the Cemetery Committee and they can meet you at the cemetery by appointment to select a plot. The Cemetery Committee has arranged with Hill and Wood to stock a plain wooden casket that is in accordance with Jewish tradition. Please be sure to ask about this lower-cost option if you are planning a funeral.
